As per the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund guidelines, an account shall be classified as an inoperative Account / Unclaimed Deposits, if the same is not operated (other than interest credits and service charge debits) for 10 years or more from the date of last operation. Any deposit/ amount remaining unclaimed for 10 years or more shall be transferred to the DEA Fund of RBI.
